Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring with me to classes or events?

Technically, nothing! However, for anything wheel-related you may wish to bring a towel. There is no need to bring tools; we will provide you with basic tools and/or what is required to complete any given project night, however if you have tools you prefer you are welcome to bring those.

You are also welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks.

Who can participate in events and projects?

The vast majority of Project Night events are designed such that anyone can complete them with a reasonable expectation of a satisfactory result, regardless of prior experience working with ceramics.

Generally, if there are restrictions on an event, such as requiring a certain skill level, it will be noted in the description.

How can I keep up with/stay in touch/ participate in the EAPS community if I am not a student or a member?

EAPS has an active Discord server that anyone can join. We have challenges, post pictures of glaze results, share inspiration and information, coordinate events and meetups, and more. We use Discord as the main venue for all studio announcements.

Discord is free to use and can be accessed via Android, Apple, or PC apps or via a web browser. To join, please email us at info@earthalchemypotterystudio.com to request an invite link or stop by the studio and we will set you up.

How can I book an event?

Please contact us via email at info@earthalchemypotterystudio.com. At this time, we do not offer private lessons or events for fewer than 4 participants. Prices begin at $50 per person and may vary depending on the desired activity.

Can I paint pottery at your studio?

No. We do not keep bisqueware or underglaze paints for public use stocked in the studio.

Do you do childrens' events/accommodate children?

Not at this time.

What is your age policy?

The minimum age for participation in a Project Night or Try-It event is 13, and they must be participating alongside an adult willing to be responsible for them.

The minimum age for Clay 101 and similar multi-session ceramics courses is 16. During any practice hours outside of class times, any minor student must be accompanied by an adult - they should not be in the studio alone.

How can I become a member?

Anyone who wishes to become a member must come into the studio for a meeting before signing on, at a minimum. If you are interested in membership and meet the requirements, please email us or stop into the studio to discuss details.
